fork oil viscosity

has anyone tried something different than the stock 7.5 sae?

i own a te250 model 2006 and i plan to refill with a 6 or 6.5 to have

a better feeling in rocky conditios , any suggestions?

I changed to using 5w from stock 7.5w and wish I'd done it ages ago!

but it is a personal thing so why not try it.

6 or 6.5, I doubt you would notice such a slight difference so would recomend 5w:thumbsup:

I tried going to 5wt on my TC450. While it was a little plusher in the initial part of the stroke, the problem with it blowing through and bottoming easily on bigger hits remained.

Just changing the oil isn't going to cure the real problem. I had my suspension revalved after trying the lighter oil, and have gone back to 7.5wt.

The change in valving is what made my forks better, not the lighter oil.

Try a 5w, it made my forks feel more plush in the rocks, having someone do the suspension dialed in for your weight would make the biggest difference but there is quite a bit you can do with the stock forks with simple viscosity changes and adjusting the clickers.
