DRZ 400, Girlfriends bike or still hope?

OK, my stock 2009 DRZ 400S is a bit disipointing, I heard that carb and exhaust mods make a diff but how much? I just got a KTM 690 Enduro R and feel I am rinding the kids mini bike when I get back on the DRZ, do I reserve the Suzuki as the Girlfreinds bike is there still hope for the bike?

Sorry for the title but I wanted some attention, really the stock Suzuki is lax on power, the bike needs help. How much power do you get with exhaust and carb changes and what are the recomendations? How much must I spend...

I did the usual mods , that are mentioned in the forum.

It really made all the difference in the world to me, But Im also not comparing it to a 690 either.

I think it really depends on what expecting from it or what ur using it for.

I did full exhaust,FCR carb air box mod, intake cam,

Totally different bike.

very nice bike:thumbsup:, checked out 1 last weekend, LC4 motor. Orange$ and banana$ don't compare. if shes tall, DRZ away, IMHO.

airbox mod,fcr carb kit and pipe.looking at around 1000 bux but totaly worth it.

It will take about $4000 to make it hang with the 690, and it will still be more reliable. For every $1000 less you spend, you get 1/4 of the way there.

How deep are your pockets?
