Can 99'CR 250 Front brake caliper fit a 93'Model

I have a 93'CR250 in need of a front brake caliper. I found a complete set up (Caliper,Cable, Lever,etc.) that came off a 99'CR 250. I can get it for a reasonable price so my question is can the part be interchangeable with the older bike. Any input would be appreciated. Thanx

Doubtful. different forks, and rotors.

You will need to do some part number checking with a microfische and see what years interchange with the 93. From what I can see 92-93 interchange. that is it.

I believe it will. I think the calipers remained the same over the years and only the mounts on the forks changed to compensate for different diameter rotors. Honda used the same calipers front and rear from 86-04, I believe.

Got your years a bit off

researching pads shows 92-94 as one part number, than 95-07 as a different one.

Pads are the same for a 1987 and 2002 in the front. There may be differences in materials.

No that is not correct. The pads change in 95.

If you look at the templates on EBCs site you can see this.

87-94 is a 125 series pad

95-07 is a 185 series pad.

Series is the shape of the pad, not the material. So the caliper changed. I am sure the mounting bracket changed also.

I think you could since we put an '04 CR setup on an set of '86 XR 250R forks bolted right on using the stock '86 rotor no problem also using the newer master cylinder.
