Ups and Downs of a RMZ 250

I am looking at buying a 2006 RMZ 250, what are the ups and downs of this bike? and what do i need to look for when checking it?

mybad I put the wrong year down it is a 2007 not a 2006.

if you do a quick search youll find a few possible problems with the 07 RMZ (clutch, shift detent spring etc) but in general, the 07+ is a fantastic bike. just get it dailed in to your size, skill, type of riding and its an amazing bike.

no problem. i mean, you can pretty much scan thru any of the bike=specific forums on here and find common problems that seem to pop up. i named a few, there may be some more that i didnt mention. it cant hurt to try to gather some info on them, but at the same time, i will say that you should not be discouraged from buying an 07+. i would reccommend buying the bike to anyone that wants a great handling, solid performing over-all mx bike. its not the fastest right off the showroom floor but its very easy to get that back. and you wont get the other bikes to handle like the rmz. reliability seems to be decent from my experience with mine.

yea so far that is what i understand it isnt that fast but the handling is great especially out of turns to a jump. I also have read in dirt rider that it isnt the fastest bike on the track but lap times dont lie i guess it makes up with its quick turns and accleration out of the turns. I also understand that it is very torquey.

the only real spot that the motor is weak is up top, but its not hard to get that out of the motor for a decent cost.
