Recommended Posts

I have a trip this weekend and i was wondering what fuel range i could expect.

I have a full uncorked bike with 15/47 gearing.

can i get 100 miles out the ims 3.2 tank riding fire roads and jeep trails?

As long as you are not running wide open everywhere you go you should be fine.

With the same gearing on mine I have eeked out a 105 mile loop on fumes. About 15 of that 115 was tapped out in top gear at 100+ using Conoco's finest as fast as it flow out of the tank. The rest of that loop we probably averaged about 45mph so I'm pretty sure you will be okay.

I wouldn't worry if it were me.

35 mpg for my XRR, If you have a cam in it it would be different.

Thats an average with a mix of terrain, some road, sand, slower rocky stuff..ect.

Thats with 14/47 so the 15 counter should also be good for some extra mpg.

Mine gets anywhere from 24 to 42 mpg, depending on how I ride, but I average around 35 with a stock, uncorked motor and 14/50 gearing. I would think that averaging 30 mpg with 15/47 would be relatively easy on Fire roads and jeep trails.

I only would get about 80 miles or so on my xr600r. It had a 3.2 gallon tank on it stock. I ride hard though and it had lower gearing I think. Does the newer 650r's get better mileage than the older 600r's?
