Spare engine parts? Metal Dowel.

Recommended Posts

I was taking my cams out to remove a noisy auto decomp. on my 07 DRZ400s and today as I was putting everything back together I came across a small metal dowel about 1-3/8" long and just over 1/4" in diameter in my pile of fasteners. I'm not sure if it came off my bike or just managed it's way over to my pile of parts.

What I've taken off of the bike is the Right side case cover, valve cover (cam cover?), and the cams, to give you a clue as to where it could have come from.

Thanks for any help!

Not from the cam cap. But that's what I was thinking.

I'm not gonna argue with someone trying to help me :banghead:

Nope, no room in there for anything except for those alignment sleeves, all present.

Thanks for the responses!

Looks like the Finnigan pin.
That's what I was afraid. No one chases white rabbits quite like me.
i though it said 3/8" not 1 3/8.sorry.
No worries, thanks for the suggestion. At least it wasn't buried too deep in there!

First thing that came to mind was a spacer for a chain guide.

Looks a little bit long, though.

Thank you!

Now I just need to find out which other project it cam out of.:)

What is the exact diameter? metric or inch? That should be a clue.
