CRF 250 and cold weather

Recommended Posts

I have a 07 crf 250r and if it's colder than 60 degrees outside it will not start at all. I usually have to resort to bump starting it or just giving up. I have a quick shot 2 but everything else about the bike is stock. When it's warm out it starts up fine and runs great but as soon as the temp drops it's another story. Any suggestion on where to start on a re-jet for when it's around 35-45 degrees out?? Also i'm at about 700 feet elevation. Current jetting is pilot 2 1/2 turns out, slow jet #42, jet needle NKBT, needle clip position 3rd groove, Main Jet #175. Any advice would be greatly appreciated because i don't know much about jetting.

I don't think it's the valves because it has always been like this since i bought it. Regardless of when my last valve adjustment was, if it's cold outside it doesn't want to start, so i've always just assumed it needed rejetted for the cold weather but i never knew where to start.
