2007 WR250f Oil Pressure Check/Strainer

Recommended Posts

Is it necessary to check the oil pressure after oil and filter change?

How much of a turn of the check bolt is required to allow the oil to seep during check(engine running)?

Also is it necessary to inspect/clean the oil strainer? Is it difficult to do?

This is the initial service to bike...20 hours 250 miles on engine.

Thanks.

i personally only check the strainer about every 6 or so oil changes.

i alway clean out my stainless reusable filter, and open the oil check bolt, just till i see oil start to come out, maybe a few turns.

Hey guys, what is the "oil check bolt" you are referring to and what do you use it for?

I change my oil every 2 rides but don't ever check pressure and rarely check the screen. I've had 4-stroke mx bikes since 01 and never found anything more than a speck of crud in the screen.

IMO, if you lose oil pressure or if the screen gets clogged with gear metal, you've got immediate and serious problems that you're going to know about right away.
