WR125 clutch does not work

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My brothers bought a 99 WR125. It had been stood for 8 months. The clutch wont engage. I'm not that familiar with motorcycle clutches. The clutch cable has been adjusted to no avail and with the clutch lever fully in the bike is still in gear. We took the the clutch cover off and the clutch top plate does seem to lift fine when the clutch lever is pulled. We removed all the clutch plates and although not checked for wear they are free.

Anyone have any ideas on the possible cause and what needs replacing. I am assuming that it must be more than a new cable and or clutch plates? :)

Thanks

Clive
