Bulge in rear inner tube

Recommended Posts

I replaced my rear tire. While I had the rear inner tube out, I aired it up and it had a good size bulge in it. Should I replace it? or is it ok?

Not sure about the bulge but I always change my tubes when I always swap out the tires.:)

I think it is alright as long as it doesn't bulge the tire. It is a heavy duty tube. Do you use regular tubes? If you replaced a heavy duty tube everytime you changes a tire, that would be pretty expensive.

If there's a bulge, it is because the tube is weaker in that area than the rest of the tube. I don't know if that weakness is enough to cause a flat tire though. If it were me I wouldn't take a chance and replace it, only $20.

I don't understand those who put a new tube every time they swap a tire either. I just put a good quality tube and keep in there basically forever.
