Carb. position?

Recommended Posts

How important is it to get the carb straight up and down after a rejet? Most bikes have a notch on the boot to help align the carb. The KTM doesnt and it would seem you could affect float levels if the carb is not straight up and down? Or, is it so minimal that it wouldn't be noticed?

Just my 02. but I don't think it's that critical. Think about the the pictures you've seen on the cover of a dirt bike mag where the rider has the bike leaned over so far in a corner that his handle bar is nearly touching the ground. How far from level do you suspect the carb is at this point?

If he's pulling at least 1G through the turn, the liquid in the float bowl won't know the bike is not "level".
