TTR250 Seat Height (Increase?)

Recommended Posts

I've been riding a 2000 TTR250 for 5 years. I'm debating about putting some money into the bike or moving on to a WR. I'm okay with the bike's power and weight (mostly woods riding in southern Ohio) but the seat height feels too low. I'm, 6'0" 170 lbs. with a 34" inseam. I know there are kits available to lower the seat, but does anyone make a mod to increase the seat height? I guess another option would be to search for suspension mods, but I would also like to get some more distance between the seat and the foot pegs.

Hi.

How about adjust the length of the rear suspension to be longer ?

The picture can be found here.

No.5 Ride height adjustment mention about it.

In my case I took off lock nut and adjust ring and all that and shorten it to lower it down, though.

:)

Thanks for the tip. Those are pretty cool and I'm sure it would help a bit. Kinda pricy though. Can anyone who has these on their bike in the lowboy position tell me if you can still adjust the rear brake lever below the foot peg height?

Thanks. That's a cool link. I'f I can get the bike up a bit by lengthening the stock suspension I'll definitely do it. Not sure if I want to invest in aftermarket suspension. I'm already looking at a new rear tire, sprokets, and chain. Still questioning how much I want to invest before I just put the money towards a new bike.

I'm thinking $500 is my budget for this year. If I can get happy with this bike for $500, I'll keep riding it and maybe rethink the whole thing next spring.

That would definitely help and I would be willing invest $95. Do you remember where you saw it? Internet? Was it a US company? Thanks for the reply.
