Exhaust leak

Recommended Posts

I am running a two brothers complete system and have a leak where the header pipe meets the cannister. Tried using RTV high temp gasket sealer, but that stuff blows off in no time. Anyone have any ideas to fix. It is a fairly loose fit. Two brothers suggested the RTV sealant. I can't believe they don't come with some way of tightening that connection down.

Did you let the gasket sealer dry for 48 hours?

Yep - twice (second time it sat for a week without starting). Both times lasted about a ride. Used the copper stuff too.

Unfortunately the gap is too small for the oem gasket. It is not a big gap, just enough to allow a little wiggle at the connection. Was thinking about taking the bike to a muffler shop to see if they had any ideas.

Or use it as an excuse to get the MRD exhaust!
