intake cam bad our good

Recommended Posts

I have an 05 kx250f and I am wondering if their is a way to tell if my intake cam is bad. I think the sprocket turned on the cam just a little. Is the hole on the lobe supposed to line up with the hole in the sprocket when you look down it. mine is about 2 teeth off. the exhaust cam holes do line up. do I have a bad intake cam?

Yes, the 2 holes should align.

Press the sprocket off, press back on in correct position and TIG weld 2 small spots to keep it from turning again.
