2003 yz250f hard starting

Recommended Posts

would a leaking gas petcock cause a hard start, and what damage can this do if any? I would think the float would be satisfied and not cause a flood. Also found the valves are all tight (below.009). I'll get exact measurements tomarrow, but is this typical and would this cause a hard start as well.he has to jump it more often than not.I think I need to add shimms but need more accurate readings.I'm doing this for a friend in need. This is a little more intense than my xr250r so any help would be.... helpful.

The hard starting is caused by the valves...once they are fixed should fix the starting problem. Also if the bike has been shimmed multiple times i would replace all valves and have the seats cut.
