Baja Trip From Washington

Recommended Posts

I am interested to see if ;and how many people would like to ride in Baja.

it would be a 2 week trip give or take

From SanFelipa to LaPaz and back.

I have a bus and trailor so you would only need your bike and gear.

I am seeing if there is some interest from the TTr's from Washington

I am going on the 16 of April to the 5 of May.

And depending on interest i might plan another trip later or one to moab Utah.

I have a 40" bus that sits for most of the year and i intend to use it more often and have not seen many trips leaving from here to Baja.

Plenty from California.

It is more fun to travel in a group and talk about the trip on the way down and then on the wat back again.

I may bring it to Odesa for the 100 or my trailor (havent desided yet)Parking it may be a problem...

Well i guess we will see if there is an interest in going from here.

A 40 inch bus is not going to haul a lot of people ?

are you going to hire an offroad guide? baja is like the wild west you know... more important than knowing where to go, is knowing NOT where to go. i rode there fall of 2007 and i can tell you that place is insane. i only got chased once though.

If you got chased you were in a place you should not have been.

I have been going for several years and dont need a guide but i have several others we go with that have been riding there for 23 years now back when it truely was the wild west.

I like to see what people expect from there trip and try to cater to each request.

I find if there is no real agenda there is more fun and a relaxing atmosphere on the trip.

Don't get me wrong people hire guides all the time but I dont need one to get around in baja and have built up freindships there over the years of my riding there.

Oh and yes GPS doesnt hurt as well ?

you gotta be joking, that whole penninsula screams don't come here.. people get jacked down there all the time...

i got chased between gonzaga bay and puertecitos; i ran out of gas and had to hide my bike off the road out in the bush.... i was alone that day, and that was obviously my problem.. i'd go down there again, but only with someone that knows the place really well. i rode a week with tim morton and a few others that were pre-running for the 1000.. it was a good time until i turned around at san ignacio and decided to head back north by myself.. it got interesting after that, i was well prepared, had gps, maps, and mexican comic book porn, but it was a humbling feeling being alone in that big a place, with nobody expecting me to arrive anywhere at any particular time..

Tim and his crew are good people and i hear his wife is HOT.

Sorry to hear about the getting chased thing.

I ride that section each year and I can see why you were a little scared.

There are several ameaican living along that road( we met them a few years back with the guys from a buggy company(Chenawirth/and Fox)

Maybe they were after the porn??

Fitness2go --- I read your post and is why i put this up we have ridden all the places you and your group went to.

Still lots more to see and that is the reason we keep going back.

Having ridden in a truck and a van for a few trips the bus even alitle slower still rocks by comparison.?

And with 8 beds sleep time on the road means ready to ride when we get there.:banghead:

Looks like lots of Huskys on your trip.

I have a 450 myself.
