Help with identifying a bike

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to figure out exactly what my latest acquisition is.

I know it is a 1987 Kawi (got that from the tag on the frame). It is an air-cooled 2 stroke. It has no decals or any other identifying marks.

I *think* it is a KX200? Does Kawi have the displacement stamped onto the engine anywhere?

I will get some pictures posted as soon as I can.

Thanks!

Try plugging your vin in here.

http://www.kawasaki.com/DefaultFrame.aspx?strContentURL=/SITE/VIVEHICLEINFORMATION/VICHOOSEVEHICLE.ASP

Not only will you get the specifics of the bike, but also full parts diagrams of just about everything on it. I find them handy when tearing this apart. My first street bike was an 87 Ninja and I was really, really glad it made that 1986 cutoff once I'd had it a bit. Also used that same site to get exploded views of my 02 KX125 this past weekend during a tear-down and reassembly.

No such thing as a KX200. Post a pic.

Somebody left the bike out in the desert?

Somebody dumped it as trash.
