Help! E-start

Recommended Posts

Hey guys.

I ride an 03 WR and the other day I pulled up after a ride then went to restart the bike about a minute later and the e-start wouldn't work. It just made a whining noise but wouldn't start. It sounded as though the starter motor wasn't engaging. I kicked it over, stopped it again then gave the button another hit and it fired no worries.

After a couple of days of sitting in the shed, I tried to start it again today and same problem. I kicked it over, stopped it but this time it refuses to start with the button. All it does is click and make a whining noise. Im not much of an electrician so forgive me if this is a basic issue but any tips would be great.

Cheers

Thats what I thought but it seems strange that it happened straight after a ride. It wasn't slow at all to begin with and I ride without a light, does the battery not charge while the bike is running?
