F to the oil...

Recommended Posts

I live in Florida. Cold, here at least, is thirty degrees fahrenheit for a long winter of three weeks - it's usually a brutally humid 80+ degrees. 10w40 full synthetic Mobil 1 can kiss my butt on both cheeks. I change my oil every 1000 to 1200 (about once a month for me). That stuff came out like blackened piss water last night not to mention looking horrible - I've never seen my oil look so dirty and run down in such a short interval. For lubrication purposes, especially down here, I plan on moving to a higher weight for the summer, 15w50 or a 20w50 full synthetic. And d*mmit, I'm not paying $24 for two quarts of oil again, Mobil 1 needs to pay for their own oil spills, I have my own bills to worry about. Sorry, needed to vent. :)

Should I start worrying about how black my 1000 mile old oil looks? I worry more about shades of gray. Not black.

I always just throw two more quarts of HP4 in there and ride on.
