Adjusting first 3" of fork travel Help!

Recommended Posts

How do I adjust the first 3 inches of fork travel ?

Maybe call it sag ?

It's too soft.

How do I stiffen it up, add oil, springs,

I had the suspention valved for my self, but need to fine tune it.

2008 Crf450.

Front end feels sketchy going into turns, Dives too much and don't hook up.

Any help,

thanks

It feels really good on bumps and jumps.

just don't seem to settle right before the corners while braking.

not hooking up and grabbing the ground.

feel like i'm skating till into turn.

I lowered the rear couple mm. not much better.

should i just try couple more clicks on compression ?

OK, what I need it to raise my ride height ! maybe go to a 4.8 spring ???

You need to address one issue at a time.

First what is your weight? Do you have the right springs? Check with one of the suspension company's for the correct rate. Then set your rear sag to the correct range. Start your clickers on the front at the stock setting and try riding, then a few clicks, ride again until you feel confident. This is the advice I received last year and it helped.
