2003 fork oil amount.

Hey guys, I took the forks apart on my girl friends CR 85. A bunch of oil cam out, but im unsure on how much to put in since I dont have a manual & they were leaking... Does anyone know How much to put in? Do I fill them up too the top?

k tech in the UK list 98mm airgap, springs out rod collapsed.

Ok so that means I fill the lower leg up with oil, and leave 98mm from the top of the oil to the top of the lower leg? Never done forks before. Thanks in advanced.

fill it up near the top, pump the rod 20 times, let it settle for 5 mins, pull the outer tubes up twice to remove the oil between the inner and outer tubes, then suck out oil to 98mm below the outer tube.

Thanks, I did alittle more research and found a how-to. I think I know how to do it. Hopefully these babies wont leak!! Thanks. Just need to make a fork seal driver this week.

One More Questions. Is it really nesssary to heat up the fork tub when driving back in the copper retainers or whatever they are?

It's easier to get them out (and in) but it's not a must
