Incorrect reassembly causing high idle and backfire?

Recommended Posts

I tried experimenting with some different jets in my 08 YFZ450. I'm running a Full HMF Exhaust system in Illinois at about 750ft elevation and 60 Degrees. I was running a 48 Pilot and 165 Main. I tried putting a 50 pilot and 175 main in like HMF's website says. It only would run when given gas and it backfired like crazy. I had the fuel screw out 2.5 turns like HMF's site said. I put it back to the 48P and 165 and it still ran idled too high and backfired. Is it possible I put something back together wrong? It should be back to where it was before when it ran ok and it's not???

Nope, I just loosened the clamps and tilted it so I could get to the two jets. I don't see how I could have pulled a cable tight or anything like that. I need to take a closer look at it I guess. It just doesn't make any sense. I put it right back the way it was before?
