Recommended Posts

guys, i have a 05 kxf250 and the thing does not like idling, i am going to strip the carb and rebuild it, so i need your help...

  • can i buy a service kit for the carb
what are the standard settings i.e. needle height
how do i check the float height
is there any better settings than std
is there a rough position of the adjuster screws

thanks in advance for your help.

the only thing thats hard IMO is the float height, it's hard to hold it in the perfect to position and then try to measure it with the other hand....

But unless it's stuck it shouldnt be out of adjustment, just check the little rubber tip as they do deteriorate over time.

The kets and the needle are easy as can be

the link is good and many thanks but it doesn't give you the needle height.

can anyone advise on this and also the mixture screw, how many turns as a rule of thumb?

I don´t remember the -05 spec regarding the needle, but if it´s the stock needle the clip is usually in the middle position.

The fuel screw does not have a "definitive" setting, it changes with the weather. Set it at 2 turns out from fully seated and go from there.
