effect of silencer length on jetting

Recommended Posts

on my 2005 cr250 I am going from a PC spark arrestor to a FMF Q silencer which is quite a bit longer. What is the general rule of thumb regarding changing lengths of silencer and jetting?

Will the longer sparky make the bike run richer? enough to expect to rejet?

expect to rejet. will most likely have to drop the PJ and tinker w/the a/s setting at the least.

I've jetted two CR125's

The first was jetted with a FMF shorty, then I switched to a FMF Tubine core (not a Q model). No jeeting required, I could not only NOT tell a difference in ridability, but it sounded the same to me.

The second was jetted with stock silencer, which was later replaced with a Turbine Core Q. Again, no jetting required.

YMMV
