diff. rebound setting on KYB Forks !

Recommended Posts

Hi:confused:

i am confused about the far diffrents on reb. valving in KYB 48mm Forks!

stock on my KX 450/07 Europe

20.11 3x

13.11 (12,11 for my 0,44N/mm Spring?)

18.11

16.11

14.11

12.11

10,20 2x base

09 Honda

20.11 4x

13.11

18.11

16.11

14.11

13,30 2x Base

the springs on both Forks are 0,47kg/mm?

why did the large differentiate?

I think the Honda guys were testing in the mud this year. Honda's rebound stack is stiff. Too stiff for most and the bike can be greatly improved by using a lighter stack like your Kawi.

yet honda tend to go really light on LSR on the rear, weird, but then on the 09 everything seems to be geared to getting the bike to turn like a 125, so it makes sence if you think about it.

the rod thicknesses are different, the 07 kwack is 12mm, and the 09 honda is 12.5mm- less oil flow so needs more damping.

i think my KXF has 12,5mm fork rods?

ps.

the Valving works realy good for me on hard packet tracs .(with the smaler 12mm transmissin shim on the reb,0,44N/mm Springs and dual spring dell taco incl epnp Springs!.):)
