Scotch brightpad and if need be steel wool. Spray WD 40 on before a ride so that some of the mud wont stick.

The best advice I can give you is when you pull your motor out of the frame wet sand it and then use aluminum polish and it seems to stay a lot cleaner.

You can get a can of brake cleaner or carb cleaner that will take it right off. Make sure not to get the spray on anything rubber and hose if off as soon as your done. It helps keep the frame, engine and just about any other metal piece clean.

Brake cleaner wont get rid of engine stains. With heat and time mud can stain the cases and only scrubbing with steel wool or a scotchbright pad can get it off. Assuming that's what Agd is referring too.
