Spitting coolant out the overflow hose

Recommended Posts

I have a 2007 kx250f that is spitting coolant out the overflow hose. It seems to be running fine. It is just dripping out from the hose below the motor. I have added coolant to it to top it off and it just spits it out. Could it be that i filled it all the way up and since it has now overflow container its just spitting it out once it gets warmed up.

there's a good chance you just overfilled it. I did that last time I rebuilt my top end on my YZ250, I just filled it up to the top and once the motor got hot it spewed out coolant until it settled down to the proper level and then it was fine.

go for a decent ride say 20 mins or more to get it hot and then let it cool completely, and then pull the rad cap off, it should still be within a inch or so of the top

I mounted a overflow coolant bottle to the inside of the left rear number plate and ran a hose to it. The overflow bottle picked up the spitting coolant once it warmed up and then it went back it. I may have it solved now.
