kx100?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm kinda stuck on what bike I should get. I'm 14 and I'm 5'4 or 5'5 and weigh about 140 or so. I currently have an '05 crf100f and am looking to get a bigger bike with more power. Would the kx100 be good for me? This would also be my first 2 stroke. I have been looking at a few different bikes: yz85 rm85L cr85 expert and kx100. The ktm is a little out of my price range. How are these bikes on the trails? Which is the fastest/ best on the track? I have found a couple of yz85, here's the links:

The second one looks really nice for the price that he is selling for.

Here are some cr85 experts:

Now for the rms:

And lastly, the kx's:

OK... Thanks for your help

Honostly, i would say a 125. Im 5'4 and have a kx100, it and feels cramped to me. I have bar risers, they help a little bit, but its not as comfortable as a full size bike. If you think you can handle it, go 125 :)

I'm 5'4" a lot older than you. I have had a KDX200 and a CRF250X. I just couldn't touch the ground when it counted. It really sucks to be vertically challenged when you want to ride a dirt bike. So with that. Pick which is going to be comfortable. There are a ton of used bikes out there. Look at some other options. A 2 stroke is a lot different to ride than a 4 stroke. Do you know anybody with a 2 stroke you can test? I ride a KX100. I don't ride motocross, just have fun recreational riding.

I'm 5' 10" 172lbs and just bought a KX100 as a play bike to ride with my boy on the kids tracks. I ride a KTM450 too. My KX is AWESOME to ride. I have Renthal tall fat bars which help alot. I just bought Fastway F3 footpegs which I will run in the low posistion (1/2in lower then stock) and I bought the Guts Tall seat foam & Green gripper seat cover kit which will add 1 1/2 inches. The stock bike is really fine to me, a bit cramped but not so bad that I can't ride it and have hella fun on it. I would say get the 100 myself. It's WAY lighter then a fullsize 125 and REALLY easy to flick around. I can't wait to get the pegs on and seat kit. I'm looking for a second seat so I don't cut up my perfect stock seat. I want to put it back on for my boy when he grows into the bike.

I just got an '03 kdx200 today. I got it with factory connection suspension (stiffer), fmf gnarly pipe, fmf turbine core 2 silencer, skid plate, 50/50 and dirt tires, and some extra plastics (I might have missed a few...). It was raining today so I couldn't ride it much. But overall I'm really happy with the bike.

I bought my wife that 09 black kx100. She was really suprised what a bike 100lbs less with way more power than her crf230 feels like.

That is a really good bike and a 2st will help you develop your skills.

The honda crf150rb is another good choice but more$$

Nice bike, make sure to keep it plated, you never know if you're going to need that plate when you're older...

My son just got a KX100. He's younger and smaller but his KX100 can do most anything. Has enough low end to lug along the trails yet enough top speed to race around a track. We ride with a kid on a CR85 and he's constantly slipping the clutch and screaming the motor. I'd recommend the KX100 any day.
