No Idle

Recommended Posts

My buddy got his son a crf150. The bike is totally stock. He has been riding it with no problems. He brought it to me today to look at because it will start up with no problem, but when you push the choke in it cuts out. I set the fuel screw at 2 1/2 turns out (it was set at 1/2 turn out) and it would let it idle with the choke in but soon as you tried to give it gas it would cut out immediately. I thoroughly cleaned the carb, paying most attention to the pilot and main jet. I also completely drained the gas and added new gas and rechecked the jets. Still the same thing happening. Is there anything I am missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try a 45 pilot jet and i think someone recommended a 48 pilot for temps above 50f. Go with what the manual says for the main jet. after the pilot is switched out you should probably only have to adjust the fuel screw and idle. you can also search tt for the o-ring mod and try that, but i dont think it helped my bike too much.

- before you change the pilot maybe try turning the idle up some.
