rear master cyclinder

Recommended Posts

I suspect my rear master cylinder might be stuffed, as it feels and sounds like air is somehow getting sucked in (or pushed out) when the brakes are applied hard. i bled the brakes on the weekend to try and fix but even after bleeding 300ml of fluid through when i press the lever down hard and fast i can hear air escaping from the master cylinder, a few pumps later and bubbles come out the bleeder hole. is it normal to hear air escaping from the master cyclinder? i suspect not. if there was a leak in it i suppose its possible its drawing air into the brake system meaning i could bleed litres of fluid through and still not work all the bubbles out.

any tips on how to fix this problem?

Yep. 69600-04820 PISTON/CUP SET(for a 2001. Depending on modelyear of course) at your nearest suzuki dealer, aprox 20 US$. One hours work perhaps replacing the innards of the master cylinder and bleeding and so on.
