KTM 250 or 300?

Recommended Posts

I bought a used KTM 2007 300 xc-w or so he says:banghead: . I was wondering how can you tell if it truly is a 300 and not a 250. He put new plastics on it so there is no number and there is no number on the engine except for 72-5br. Does anyone know what that means and if it has anything to do with the engine size?

You can find out by looking up the VIN #.

Should be one on the steering head and the engine block.

Google KTM VIN and it will give you sites to look it up on.

Hopefully someone will chime in with another way to tell.

I have heard a few issues with KTM VIN #'s not matching what bike it really is.
