pw issues part 2

Recommended Posts

Thanks for responding fryboy. So I can just use a scothbrite pad on the cylinder to get the glazing off. There is not a VIN # on the neck area of the bike like most have. There is a number on the bottom left side of the motor. I had read on other posts that the year should be the 8th number from the right if im not mistaken, but this number dosent look like a regulad VIN#. As far as what oil to use in the transmission/crankcase, nobody else has been able to tell me what kind either. thanks

On some bikes, the VIN is actually on a sticker on the front of the bike's frame somewhere. Although I think all PWs are stamped. Could your bike be a Coyote the Chinese knockoff? Or perhaps it's a knockoff frame with real Yamaha guts?

Scotchbrite pad sounds like a reasonable idea since it will be a lot cheaper than a machine shop and if it doesn't work you're out a few dollars.
