RE KXF 250 and RMZ 250

Recommended Posts

I have an 05 RMZ 250 and it needs a new crankcase so searching through OEM parts i found a set for Suzuki but on hearing the Kawasaki has the exact same engine i found that the Kawasaki part was a lot cheaper so as my bike falls into the years that the companies were together will the crankcase set from a 05 Kawasaki go straight on to my Suzuki.

KXF part http://www.xtremeusa.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=381339&category=Motorcycles&make=Kawasaki&year=2005&fveh=8815

RMZ part http://www.xtremeusa.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=88490&category=Motorcycles&make=Suzuki&year=2005&fveh=2006

$100 cheaper for the Kawasaki part

Yes the first generation (steel frame) RMZ-250 had an engine that was designed by Suzuki but built by Kawasaki (with "some changes" ~ like a KX-125 clutch...). The chassis was all Kawasaki (design and built).
