2005 Wr250

Hi All

I've found 2 really clean 2005 WR250's for sale. Both with low hours and in almost showroom condition. Since this would be my entry into 4 strokes, I'm wondering if there is any reason why I should not by an 05? Obviously, the 07 on up have the alloy frames but I'm not sure beyond that what advantages paying more for a newer model would get me. what would you consider a fair price for a pristine example and pro's and con's compared to an alloy framed model. I've considered the YZ since they are lighter (lots for sale in my area, very few WR's) but I'm basically a trail/off road guy so the kickstand, trans and of course magic button of the WR seem like a good way to go.

I absolutely love my 05 and i can get at the carb and engine!

If I remember correctly, 2005 is when they narrowed the bike a little bit. The 2004's were a little portly and top-heavy. I'd say that if the price is right, go for it!

I have an '06 WR250F and absolutely love it!

Read this FAQ - it's written for the WR450 but applies to the WR250 as well. http://www.thumpertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=440631
