A moment of silence for a fallen comrade

Did you hear about the tragedy of one of our fellow off road enthusiasts at the monster truck show this past weekend in Tucson, AZ? The driver of a ford ranger hit a large jump and landed upside down with no roll bar, the cab was flattened and the whole family watched on. It really makes me think how often we all push the limits so much of the time and when it's your time it's your time. I think a moment of silence or a prayer is in order for our fallen comrade and the family he left behind.

Thanks TT'rs

Take Care, and keep it on two

Mark

Was he from this web-page, or just some truck enthusiast who did something incredibly stupid?

With no roll bar?

You forgot to post it in the 'Parts & Accessories' forum. :)

Mike. :D

No, he was not a member of this board that I know of. Just a fellow off road. What is really stupid is that the monster truck show that they do the tuff truck at doesn't require a roll bar. I’m sure that will change now.

Hard to believe they even let people on the site in a truck with no roll bar,

someone will have to answer to that one. Really a sad story all around, but

ultimately you have to lookout for yourself.

I know a guy that was out at Prarie city in his Jeep, started rolling on him,

first thing he thought of was to grab the roll bar, it rolled on his hand crushing

all 4 of his fingers beyond repair. Sad story, he lost them all, the doctors told

him they could take one of his second toes and attach it for a gripper but he didnt

want to learn how to walk again or wait another 10 weeks in the hospital.

I might have taken the toe option, tough choice.

Yep..someone doing something stupid. Not a tragedy at all. Sad for the family, but certainly not a tragedy.

A few words come to mind.

DUMBASS

IDIOT

RETARD

STUPID S.O.B.

MINDLESS TWIT

IGNORANT BASTARD

CARELESS PRICK

THOUGHTLESS MORON

I guess his last words were...Hey ya'll...Watch this!

thats flat out nuts...

My above post was not ment to imply that I find humor in this accident at all!I just don't understand the thought process of Stupid people. His family was even viewing. &%$#@! was he thinking? I do feel sorry for his family though.

Are you familiar with the Darwin Awards?

I will take a moment for the guy and his family and friends. You know there are two things in this world that are infinite ..... the universe and human stupidity. I've done a million real dumb ass things ...... thank god i'm still here!

I'm sorry to hear of the tragedy, I wish his family the best in this very tough time.

I've done a million real dumb ass things ...... thank god i'm still here!

Me too!

Ya, I seriously can't be too critical of this guy. I've done some things that, in hindsight, where stupid. I'm still here but. There but for the grace of god.......

I think it's important to share these kinds of stories because even if we wouldn't do something that dumb, friends and family might. I think it's important that someone they know tell them that it's a STUPID thing to do. It might help it might not, we can only hope it will make them think about the possibilities.

That was a stupid thing to do!

He payed the ultimate price for taking risks. It's a good thing nobody else was hurt. I feel bad for his family too.

I sure hope you are standing on the moral high ground knowing that you have never done something stupid enough that it could have ended in death. I'm not saying he did a smart thing, I just know that ever time I ride I'm pushing the limits over some very ruff terrain and I have been down hard before. Yes, I only ride with top quality full gear, so when that blue moon comes around and I seem to think It's a good idea to dismount the bike over the bars at 70 Mph or any other reason I find myself on the ground, I'm usually not hurt too bad (knock on wood). I just think in our business of pushing the limits we don't have much room for pointing fingers unless you don't ever push the envelope. With that said, I do except your right to your opinion and freedom of speech.

Mark

Mark,

I see where you are coming from, but man..that was terribly stupid on his part, and I might add, very selfish of him to do that knowing he has a family. The equivalent of what he did would be you jumping a quadruple jump on pavement then going into another jump so you could do a backflip. Oh yeah..without proper training or equipment.(except for sandals and a T-shirt and shorts). Would you expect us to say "Poor Mark...what a tragedy"? Sure we all push the limits, but we use SOME common sense. The equivalent of not having a roll bar is not wearing a helmet. Would you push it in the woods with no helmet? I wouldn't. Does that make me morally better than him? No. But it sure makes me smarter than him. See where I'm coming from?

Tragedy is if he had a family and no life insurance!!!
