Is my piston fried?

Recommended Posts

What do you guys think? I never saw a used piston before so I am not sure. My cousin said it is fine...but looks rough to me. The cylinder is still shiny (no carbon). Should I buy new and toss this one?

Looks like it is time for new piston/rings.

You have excessive blow-by from the rings. That is a sign that the rings have worn past their limit when you see carbon marks below the ring.

As long as the cylinder is in good shape, new piston and rings, and top end gasket set and you will be ready to ride again.

Will do guys. Thanks for the advice. Sorry for the duplicate post. TT was having some trouble and I didn't think my first thread took.

Got my saved search on eBay right now!
