Side Stand Kick Stand Help 2007 TE450

My 2007 has a side stand problem, the flat piece of metal slips over the spring and lets the bike lean too far over. Is there a fix for the problem?

I'm not sure what the tab and spring have to do with it but I built up a small weld on the kick stand where it contacts the mount to keep it more vertical.

You should disable the kickstand auto-retract "feature" too. It's a good way to have your bike fall over while it warms up. How is listed in one of the sticky links.

I'm guessing the bracket that mounts the stand to the frame is bent. Mine has done this a couple times. Don't sit on the bike with the stand down. It can't hold the weight.

ding ding ding... we have a winner.. go to your local husky dealer and get a new bracket.. bolt it on.. problem solved....

The more i have researched, I believe the tab that connects the spring is bent. This in turns allows the tab and spring to slip over the auto retract stud and let the bike lean over too far. I may try and turn that metal ta over?

Yep they're right, is usually the bracket that mounts to the frame. My Husky dealer always has those in stock, they just seem too soft and bend. I've already replaced one and have bent one back twice on an 07.
