Chain of CRF450 broader need tensioner?

Yea, I noticed that right away too, but the width of the slot in the tensioner is such that it will easily accommodate the CRF450 chain. I’ve probably put 400 to 500 hard trail miles on the bike since doing the chain and so far it’s working great.

Will the 2017-2019 crf 450 cam chain work with 01 xr400

If u are doing this mod with xr400 after top end & have to move crank for tdc this chain will bind eaisly in bottom of case. And because there is no play like stock chain u cant jingle it back on.  If it slips off bottom gear while installing cam n sprocket u have to pull case cover to re install u have been warned
