Cam timing is the same gig as most other Japanese 4-stroke singles:

*Remove the little screw-in plugs from the left-hand crankcase cover.

*Remove the valve adjustment covers.

*Rotate crankshaft counterclockwise until the T mark on the generator rotor is at the center of the small plug hole.

This is Top Dead Center, but make sure you have the crankshaft at the top of the compression stroke.

This is when neither of the rocker arms are being pushed by the cam lobes.

*Remove the cylinder head cover (because I don't think you will be able to see the cam sprocket timing marks through that plug hole up there).

*The cam sprocket should have two marks in line with the gasket surface of the cylinder head cover, as well as a small dot at the 12 o'clock position.

Make sure there's no slack in the front side of the cam chain when checking this.

Valve clearance:

Intake: .002 - .004 inches

Exhaust: .005 - .007 inches
