counter balancer nut

I've only recently noticed references to the counter balancer nut.

Should a red loctite fix be done to this nut in addition to the primary nut? Should it be done ASAP?

If I was in the right case side,, yes, I would remove, clean and loctite the balancer nut. When working on the motor it always gets a drop. Would I pull apart a right case just for that??? No probable not. The balancer nuts have come loose on some DRZ's but not with a huge frequency.

Bottom line, if it's a fresh build or repair,, yes loctite it. If your in there anyway loctite it. :busted:

Great. Well then I'll hit it the next time in the right case. Any idea what torque spec to aim for?

rule of thumb........

any fastener that rotates needs loctite.
