running a wider rear mess up handling?

Recommended Posts

cracked my rim on my 250 this past weekend and my new wheel wont be done till next week, my question is can I run the rear wheel/tire (110 width starcross) from my 450 without messing up the handling too much (wanting to do a track day and the 450 is set up for woods)

It should be ok, I would think it might even improve handling because you have a wider tire so you have more suface area on the ground resulting in better hook-up. :busted:

Not sure about the extra hook-up, but you should not notice any performance issues.

You won't go back! You will loose some punch, but will gain speed with a better hook up. I saw some of the pros running 120's. They have the power to pull em though.

I run a 110 on my mod with great results. I guess it depends on the track and personal prference, but it won't hurt anything that's for sure.

I run a 110 with no problems. Didn't notice any real difference.

i run a 110, hooks up better in the corners without any real noticable power loss.. if anything its off the starting gate
