The Lakes Tour '09

Recommended Posts

Got most of the band back together on short notice and put together a quick dual sport ride visiting a lot of High Sierra lakes. I didn't post for a public ride 'cause it was short notice and a long way to travel for a lot of folks. I've been wanting to do this ride for sometime and finally made it happen. Visited a lot of lakes, some I've been to and some I haven't. In all we visited Red lake, Lost lakes, Upper Blue lake, Lower Blue lake, Twin lake, Meadow lake, Lake Alpine, Slick Rock area and Silver creek, Utica Reservoir, Union Reservoir, Wet Meadows Reservoir, Summit lake, Lower Sunset and Upper Sunset lakes and Tamarack lake. Meadow lake and Utica Res. are my favorites now-beautiful areas. And the slick rock trail going alongside Silver creek is awesome, but crowded on Labor day weekend with a ton of jeepers. All in all we did 116 miles with about half of that on pavement, but fun twisty, turny mountain road pavement with some great friends. Thanks for a great birthday fellas. :busted:

Tim & Mike taking a better line across the creek. I almost played sub commander when the water came over my seat on a different line. I heard the engine bog a bit, I slowly rolled the throttle and thank goodness I didn't ingest any water-got lucky! Of course they saw all this, laughed then chose a different route.

Pretty sweet pictures! Do you have any of the trails?

Naw-it was the lakes tour. It was the 4WD road from the bottom of Blue lake over to Hwy. 4 that splits 2 wilderness areas.

Man, now I wish I had drove down to meet you guys. That looks beautiful. I like Meadow Lake the best. Awesome rock formations. :busted:

Yeah, that was my first time at Meadow lake and it was really impressive down in that canyon. I dunno how in the hell it got the name Meadow lake, I didn't see a meadow anywhere. Maybe there was a meadow there before they dammed it up.

You know, ever since I joined Team TT I've had problems posting pics. I don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong. Thanks for the help Bill :busted: or..........should I say Old Man!

Well, I might be old, but even I know how to post pics....

It's got nothing to do with team TT and everything to do with smarts.... Then again, maybe it IS because you're Team TT....:banana:

PM if you really want to know.....

Spectacular pics. I love all the little lakes in the Sierra's although a Sierra

lake ride just wouldn't be complete without hitting Lake Audraine. :busted:

Ahh...memories of that wooden raft left there by god knows who.

BTW, love those bikes. Jerry in Sac
