New Bike Prep?

Just bought a brand new 2009 YZF450.

For a new bike what is the most important things to do, as far as greasing what and torquing what? Also, what is the best way to "break the bike in"?

Also, for that bike what is the best mods to spend money on?

Grease the steering head bearings, the shock linkage bearings, chain adjuster bolts,pack the wheel seals with grease, and grease the axles.

On that bike the biggest bang for your buck would be a slip-on, pretty much any one is better than the stock silencer. An extended fuel screw is a must buy also if you ask me.

What is a good way to break the bike in?

let the bike warm up nice and good, then ride it around at varying throttle openings, just dont hold it at a steady throttle to long while ur moving. then let it sit for a lil bit and cool down, then go ride it like u normally woud.

buy a time machine, go back to before you bought it, save until feb. and get a 2010

I was thinking that I would wait... I actually bought it yesterday. The 2010 is 8K, not OTD!! Wayyy to much Moohla, and I always wait till the kinks get worked out... last year before a major change tends to be the best year right?!

Go over every single fastener on the bike to make sure it's torqued properly.
