H.R. 1925 will CLOSE Moab, Utah

Recommended Posts

H.R. 1925 will designate 9 million acres + as "Wilderness area", excluding OHV, Bicycles, Equestrians, etc.

This includes ALL of the Moab OHV area! This bill was sponsored by a Representative from NEW YORK, not a single Representative from Utah supports this.

Go to this link, email your representative to OPPOSE H.R. 1925.

Send this to EVERYONE you know, this needs to be STOPPED!

Have seen this posted in several areas - sorry it took me so long to take action. I hope others will, too. It's very easy and very necessary. Thanks for posting again!

Done.

This is insane. Moab's economy will be crushed. This doesn't just impact us, this will impact climbers, rafters and hikers. Access to all of Moab's fun will be seriously limited.

Only if we roll over and comply anyway...

I sent my Rep. Barbara Lee( a friggin' co-sponsor!) a message and last week sent U.S.A.-All $30. Was already a member. Have never ridden Utah but have not wanted to see a "Desert Protection Act" passed there as Kalifornia has done!:busted:

I just got off the phone with the govenor's office in Utah and I'm sad to say, they had NO idea what I was talking about, even after being put on hold and asking around. Hopefully that means everyone but the secretary was at lunch. But, it is 2pm. Or, my expectations are too high.

I also called my rep. in Colorado who voted against Omnibus. They also were not aware of the issue, but took the info and said that if none of the reps from the state in question are on board, they'd almost certainly not support the bill.

Anyhoo, doing my part. :busted:

Will the bill close all of the Moab area? I looked at the map on the suwa website and it appears that about 50% of the Moab area would be closed.

Are there more detailed maps available? I'm actually planning a 2 week riding trip in a month and will try and do the stuff slated for closure.

Mike.

PS. made my second donation to USA-ALL today
