oil drain / Filter

on a CRF70 I see 2 drainplugs on the bottom of the bike. The manual mentions draining the oil from one of the drain plugs. What is the other plug for?

Also does this bike not have an oil filter that needs to be changed?

the plug on the left side (chain Side) is for the timing chain. The one on the right side is the drain plug.......and No filter, just a screen, which you have to take the clutch cover off to get to. At least thats how the 03 XR70 is.....I don't think they've changed......

ok thanks. I do not think these changed much over the years. I even saw a video on I think a CT 70 or 50. The engine looks the same.

Yup it is more or less the same engine. 'nutcase

The other one (angled slightly toward the front of the engine) is access to the cam chain tensioner.

Remove the right crankcase cover to access the oil screen. It's right below the clutch - lies horizontal (parallel with the ground). When you pull out the screen to clean it - note that it's slightly tapered. Small end goes in first.
