2004 kfx50 fuel petcock

Kawasaki

Just got a 2004 KFX50. I am having a hard time understanding the fuel petcock. It says ON pointing down and at either side says PRI. Can anybody explain this to me??

PRI stands for " prime ". In this position fuel will flow to the carb without the engine running. Useful if there's no gas in the carb. I'm somewhat surprised it has two "prime" positions. Usually, you have "ON", "PRI", and "RES" where "RES" is reserve.
