Road legal headlight options DR-Z400E UK

Recommended Posts

Guys,

Can you reccommend a headlight setup for my UK DR-Z400 E? The standard unit is

A) Very ugly

:smirk: Not road legal as it doesn't have a high beam.

Not sure if I can fit a DR-Z400 S or SM unit easily?

My bike came with an aftermarket switch gear on the handle bar and I've got the headlight currently coming on with the ignition.

Cheers,

Con

If you want a good headlight either fit a 6 or 8 inch round light .

Or if you want it to still look like a dirt bike, the complete headlamp and surround + brackets from an S.

Headlight + shroud from ktm exc '00-'04 , it comes with 35w plastic headlight or glass headlight with 60/55w !

I had the 60/55w headlight+shroud (check my garage) and i was very happy with it!

I agree the 35 watt options may be legal but are almost dangerous, Ive fitted a 5" bates 65w unit, boy what a difference! I Didnt know about the KTM version might be worth a try, or go for the glass DRZ S version but you'll need the mounting brackets as well.

With that light you may as well try and ride holding a candle.

I had something similar to that now I've got http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Polisport-MMX-Headlight-Road-Legal-Supermoto-Enduro_W0QQitemZ320326593778QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item4a94f3ecf2

Not great but a whole world better

This one is 35W thought, compared to the 2 x 35W I suggested?
