What year did the aluminum subframe start?

I ask this question because I just checked out a '03 WR 450 at a local shop that had been modified, and had a decent price.

From memory I thought the '06 WR's were the start of aluminum subframes, but I wasn't sure...

I remember it being the 2006 also starting with the aluminum...

He's referring to the sub frames... they started with the Aluminum sub frames on the WR in 2003:ride:

The Alu sub started in 2001 on the wr426. I had a 2000 wr400 and it was the last year of steel.

Damn your right. Only the YZ had the alu sub. I bought a yz sub for mine and thought it came from a WR.
