rear fender refurbish

this is my rear fender in its current state. as you can see it looks like ass. i have had stickers and vinal on it to make it look good. but am tempted now to try paint. i no everyone will just say go buy a new one, but i am 16 yo with no job and my dad dosent buy me stuff. is this worth it to stretch another couple of months out of it. i will cut the last 2 inches off it to get rid of those cracks, and i will use black as i recken will be the most durable colour. i will clear coat it also. what do all yous think??

it will flake when u drop it, and yor will drop it we use a scotch pad and wd 40 but if you plan on painting dont atempt the scotch pad w/ wd or your paint will never stick

ok. well i bit the bullet and started it just before. ill post pics when its finished. i plan on covering it with book covering contact (clear vinal) which i have done before. this will give it a shine and protect it a bit

I've had real good luck with fine wet sanding and "mop and glow".
