Fear of Cross-rutting

Recommended Posts

SoCal has gotten a lot of rain here the last couple weeks and some of the local tracks have been kind of hanus to ride. I know they prep and groom them but that still doesnt help the fact that the ground is still saturated. My fear on some of these tracks are hitting some of the deep rutts they have on the straight sections and some turns and getting tossed of my bike and like a rag doll on the track. How do you get over that fear and just simply ride a track with those conditions with confidence?

Dont look directly in front of the fender. Focus on the obstacle or turn ahead and youll be fine.

AND

Weight the rear tire more and hold more throttle. The rear tire only tracks one way and wants to push forward. It'll keep your front tire light and lessen the chance of digging in.
